About Our Team
Presstartoplay covers the latest video games and comic related news. Featuring a monthly podcast, video game walk through guides, streaming and reviews.
To help you decide whether or not to buy that new video game everyone has been talking about. To help you find that extra hidden object in a level and to make you achieve your greatest achievements (and trophies) in all your video gameplay! Also, to make you laugh.
Currently branching out into the Comic Book world. We hope we can help you make a decision with the latest and greatest in that industry as well. We plan to focus on video game related graphic novels and comics that are released.
The company was founded October 2012. The founder, Christina, had been working with another video game review website before she finally created her own. She was in school for Graphic Design which pushed her to pursue her own idea of creating a website. After talking to a few friends about her ideas for a website, she finally decided that they should be apart of PSTP. They all said yes to her offer and eventually the idea grew into something more. The rest, as they say, is history!

Born and raised in Chicago where she currently resides; Christina is currently looking for that one-in-a-million job. When she is at home she is relaxing and playing whatever video game that currently has her addicted. Formerly a video game retail seller for over 8 years, she decided to do something about her love for video games. After being a part of two websites-one of which did a podcast- she decided to create her own and bring on some close friends who were huge gamers. She started to game when she was five in her cousins’ basement, playing Nintendo with them when they wouldn’t take the controller out of her hand. By the time she was seven, her mom, who was working three jobs, bought her a Sega Genesis, thus creating a new hobby and instilling a lifetime of gaming in young Christina. She would eventually purchase and receive a PS2 and Xbox very late in the game, by then almost becoming obsessed with games, which brings us to this website and how it was created.
Some of her favorite games are: Kingdom Hearts series, The Legend of Zelda series, Animal Crossing, Borderlands, Kingdoms of Amalur, Rayman (Origins and Legends), Knytt Underground, Pokemon, Tomb Raider (2013 reboot), Phoenix Wright, Fantasy Life, and Diablo III. When she’s not gaming, sometimes she likes to draw, paint, play her drums, or even read (books and comics). Some of her favorite books are The Alchemist, The Hunger Games series, Harry Potter series, Divergent series, Invincible (comic), Saga (comic) and Ready Player One.
She hopes to one day break out into the video game industry with her website with her team.
Joseph, aka Equitem, is a casual gamer who grew up in the “old ways” of playing. After high school and some time apart, he eventually got back into the digital world through his college friend and their clan. Now, in-between a desk job (which he actually really enjoys), and normal human functions such as “sleep,” he’s behind a controller or screen in some fashion. Joseph has a background in theater and communications, and hopes to do something with that eventually. A jack of all trades, he’s stuck out many memorable bosses and less than memorable puzzles on various platforms and genres, and is always reminiscent of the classic 2D side-scroller days. What makes a game great for him is the story element, but sometimes, it’s fun to just run around and smash stuff.
Favorites: Final Fantasy VII, VIII, IX, Bioshock (series), Borderlands (series), anything with MegaMan, Bomberman, Kirby’s Adventure, Rocket Knight Adventures, Evolve, Elder Scrolls (Oblivion and Skyrim), Halo, and Destiny (yes, despite the issues with the last two, they still hold a place on my favorite list)

Reports on the origin of the subject vary wildly from region to region. In some stories, he burst, fully developed, from the skull of his father. In another, he is a traveler from another plane of existence, displaced in space and time by an experiment gone awry. Some insist he is but an abstract; a representation of theme and nothing more. The only common thread in these tales is his disdain for authority. Sometimes the hero, sometimes the villain, like all tricksters he fits no mold except his own.
Bryan also posts short stories and musings on his own site, Impoverished Geek.

Like everyone else in the video game industry, Danny started playing video games at the very young age of (insert small number here) with (insert retro gaming system here). He has since grown up with the dreams and aspirations of becoming ((high end title of (insert video game company here)). Once moving out of his parent’s denizen of (insert basement joke here), he got a glorious job working with video games by buying, trading, and selling used video games at (insert obvious video game retail company title here). After moving up through the ranks and becoming jaded on video games in general, he left the company and sought better jobs in the large city of (insert Chicago here).
Years later, he has found the light and entertainment of video games again and is back in full force as an avid video game enthusiast.
After developing distaste for modern video games, he’s become cynical and embittered towards non-indie and non-retro titles. Danny searches far and wide for those special gems of video games that exemplify the glory days. That being said, he tries to be fair in reviews.
Favorite Games: Earthbound, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross, Final Fantasy VI, The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, Secret of Evermore, Portal, Bioshock, Bioshock: Infinite, Fallout 3, Muramasa, Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga.

Mobile developer by day, gamer by night. Having grown up with an older brother that was always playing video games, Anthony began gaming at a young age. During his high school years, he worked in the video game retail world, alongside Christina for a stretch, to fund his gaming habits. For the past 2 generations of consoles he says he’s only gonna get one system, but ends up with them all anyways. While born, raised, and currently residing in Chicago, he refused to open with that to avoid the apparent trend.
When he’s not coming up with the occasional theory, he is supposedly working on some fancy mobile apps. But with so many good games coming out, the dragons and zombies might make it here first.
Vince started playing video games even before learning to read. When Vince is not playing video games, he is working on his art work, writing his books, reading, working on his blog, and updating his web site! He enjoys spending time with friends and family.

Born & raised in Chicago, but currently residing in Skokie (aka Skompton), Joe fell in love with video games when he was first given a PlayStation 1 for Christmas. After that the never ending addiction began. Joe would constantly play whatever games he could get his hands on, no matter how good or bad they were. Video gaming really became his true love when the original Xbox was released. Some of his favorite games would have to be: Goldeneye 007, anything Pokemon, Borderlands 1-2, CoD Modern Warfare 2, and every GTA. Game on!
Before joining Team PSTP, Jason was a producer and co-host of Forward Compatible. He manages GamerHQ, The Nerdites, and he also dabbles in music and video production. He’s a very busy person. He watches over the real Six Corners with his faithful Hounds of Justice, Ace the Rottweiler and Sam the American Bulldog.
Favorites: He’s a fan of video games in general, and Batman, Gears of War, Wrestling, and Zelda in particular.

Founding Member | Contributor | Former Podcaster
A native of Chicago and the veteran of the group, Brian has been gaming for over 30 years. It all started when his parents bought a Zenith TV that had a special channel and two paddle controllers. The game that came with the TV was Pong, and his love of gaming began. Soon after the Atari 2600 was given to him as a Christmas gift, Pitfall ruled, followed by a NES, Sega Master System, Super NES, Sega Genesis, and Turbo Graphix 16. One of the biggest regrets he had growing up as a kid was trading in his Super NES and Sega Genesis and all the games to buy a N64 and Playstation.
Brian also enjoys comic books and is a huge fan of Star Wars. Some of his favorite games are Contra, Castlevania, Ghouls’n Ghosts, Space Harrier, Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, R-Type, Star Wars Rogue Squadron, Final Fantasy VII, Resident Evil: Code Veronica, Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance, Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, Super Mario Sunshine, Half-Life 2, Portal, Batman: Arkham Asylum, Gears of War 2, and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.
When not gaming, Brian is hard at work as a graphic designer, an Uncle, and a big brother. He currently resides in the Northwest Suburbs.

When Yasmin is not designing awesome stuff, she’s either baking cupcakes and pies or tapping away to Theatrhythm on her Nintendo 3DS. Although she’s not a hardcore gamer, she has finished some RPGs: Pokemon, Suikoden (1, 2 and Tierkreis), and her all-time favorite: Final Fantasy 8. She also watches her husband hunting down whales in Assassin’s Creed and playing endless hours of Smash Brothers.
Yasmin also enjoys watching action, comedy and sci-fi movies and is also a huge fan of Disney. She will never let anyone forget that Star Wars and Marvel are now owned by Disney when making a point. She aspires to someday have a life-size Darth Vader statue in their future house’s basement.
Favorite Games: Theatrhythm, Marvel vs. Capcom, Tekken 6, Disney Infinity, Pokemon X, Final Fantasy 8, and Suikoden 2

Kendra lives in Chicago with her partner and 3 kids. She works long hours for a major airline to provide for her family. Gaming has been a way for her to relax, as well as get through some tough times in life. Her fascination with gaming began when her parents gifted her and her brothers an NES for Christmas. Even at a young age, she was fascinated by the puzzles, secrets, and test of reaction time. She was always the strangest of 4 children, so gaming was a natural fit for her. From NES to the current generation of consoles, her love of games has only deepened, and rivaled, by her love of writing. Some of her favorite games series are Deus Ex, BioShock, and Castlevania.
